Lowlands Away (Jane’s Version)

He dreamed a dream, the other night,

Lowlands! Lowlands away, me John!

A dream of me, dressed all in white,

Lowlands away!

I came to him, at his bedside,

Lowlands! Lowlands away me John!

Dressed all in white, like some fair bride,

Lowlands away!

And when I came, to him in sleep,

Lowlands! Lowlands away me John!

My cheeks were wet, my eyes did weep,

Lowlands away!

I wore the rose, he gave to me,

Lowlands! Lowlands away me John!

Before he left, to sail the seas,

Lowlands away!

I made no sound, no word was said,

Lowlands! Lowlands away me John!

‘Twas then he knew, that I was dead,

Lowlands away!

As he awoke, he heard the cry;

Lowlands! Lowlands away me John!

“All watch on deck! All watch ahoy!”

Lowlands away!
